Substance Use Prevention

FGC’s Substance Use Prevention Program focuses on building awareness, knowledge and skills among youth, their families and their communities. The goal of the program is to reduce risk factors associated with substance use and increase protective factors that serve to strengthen healthy decision-making and positive behaviors at the individual and community level. Services available include evidenced-based substance use prevention curricula for youth, promotion of the Illinois Youth Survey, and working with communities to reduce youth substance use. Services are offered to schools, businesses and community groups.
